Multiple Indicators Hamdani Formula for HEC Journal Recognition and Ranking

Abstract

Since last two years, Dr. Syed Nisar Hamdani along with a team of academicians is working on a new multiple indicators formula for recognition and ranking of academic journals by Higher Education Commission. This article comments on the debate article published in KER Vol. 25, No.1, 2016 and extends the debate about why the newly proposed formula is needed for recognition of economics or social science journals and how far it is different from the existing formula of journal recognition by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
